ENTREPRENEURSHIP COMMITTEE

No Institution of society can be unaffected from the changes that are taking place. In the fast-advancing and technologically developing world of today, entrepreneurship is not an alien concept. Be it any field of life, entrepreneurship is the fastest emerging trend in the 21st century. There has been a shift of mentality from opting for a corporate job to starting one's own business. Law is no exception to this. Young lawyers opening up their own firm or e-portals and facilitating the legal outreach. Being an academic institution, NMIMS (Deemed to be University), Mumbai considers that entrepreneurship should be an inherent part of the knowledge dissemination process. The Entrepreneurship Committee at School of Law (SOL), NMIMS aims at promoting this entrepreneurial spirit amongst the students of SOL. This committee is based on the belief of practical use of knowledge to felicitate the process of legal awareness and bring in technological aspects to fasten the process of the legal awareness. The committee by working with the Chancellor’s Challenge presents to the students, the lucrative opportunities offered by the NMIMS (Deemed to be University) which can help students to launch their own start-ups with some infrastructural and technical support. Hence giving the budding entrepreneurs the chance to showcase their talent and reward the deserving young minds. Further by holding events like B-Plan Competitions and E-Summits at SOL, NMIMS, the Committee will ensure promotion and facilitation of entrepreneurial spirit and ideas amongst the students of School of Law, (SOL), NMIMS. The E-Cell, SOL would encourage and train students to launch their own start-ups (including socially relevant entrepreneurship ventures) and find out the next big idea. E-Cell should encourage collaboration with entrepreneurs, scientists and executives from industry, other entrepreneurs to help our students to ideate something big! E-Cell would hold Lecture Series to build an entrepreneurial community within the SOL, NMIMS. Creation of Ideation and Incubation Centre, organizing sessions to help students find the right way to be entrepreneur, building of different skills sets, by inter-disciplinary hosting of lecture series, setting up events to help students develop the basic skill sets required to pursue one’s dream and creating an environment to develop entrepreneurial human resources would remain the focal point of E-Cell, SOL, NMIMS.
