Mr. Pranav Sharma is a specialist in Banking and Finance, Project Finance and Debt Capital Markets having more than 15 years of experience. He worked for over 6 years in the banking group at Linklaters LLP in London. He is dually qualified in India and England. The lecture conducted by him covered by far and large everything about financing. He started with the details about the basics of financing like capital expenditure stating examples of buildings and hotels, construction of factories, purchasing plant and machinery etc. He connected it with the working capital concept and asset acquisition concept through which he explained real estates, shares, refinancing of existing debts and other things. He mentioned different sections like 169, 177 and explained the current status of upfront fee how it is 2% now and will be 8% later instead of 10% at the end of the year. He very clearly stated the difference between the guarantee and security. Security being explained with the sections 185, 188, 189 of The Companies Act establishing the direct relationship with the third party. He also mentioned about the problems with the IPR and how should it be valued. Fixed deposits, bank details are the quickest form to get money out of the securities. Along with he also explained the concept of ranking charge i.e. who is getting paid first after selling assets. He concluded his lecture with addressing the issues that arise due to lending the securities to individual and the facilities of the debt facility and the securities.
