Event: LL.M Orientation - Date: 5th of August 2019 to the 10th of August,2019.
The LLM Induction cum Orientation Program for the 2019-20 batch was conducted from the 5th of August 2019 to the 10th of August,2019.
The chief guest for the inauguration on the 5th of August was Mr. Shailesh Gandhi who is an RTI activist and a former Central Information Commissioner who briefed the students about their rights under the RTI Act under a vibrant democratic set up like India. This was followed by the Dean Dr. Alok Misra addressing the students and ended with Dr. Sunil George, the Area Chairperson for LLM proposing a vote of thanks.
Day 02 and 03 (i.e. 8th and 9th August) saw the students go through a series of sessions which among others included Administrative briefing, briefing by the Examination department, session by the counselling team, briefing on Chancellor's challenge , briefing on NMIMS portal, briefing on Placement by the Placement team and briefing about various student committee members by Prof. Rakesh Nambiar. A guest lecture on Artificial Intelligence was delivered by Dr. Somnath Roy , a senior faculty with School of Business Management at NMIMS.
The Valedictory Session was held on the 10th August 2019 which was graced by our chief guest Dr. Simon Longstaff , Chief Executive of The St. James Ethics Centre, Australia along with the team from Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas comprising of Mr. Bharat Vasani, Mr. Ashok Barat , Mr. Vaibhav Ganjiwale and Ms. Kiran Patheja. Dr Simon Longstaff made the students ponder over the nature of legal professional each one of them would like to be in his life, the importance of maintaining a critical mind and the importance of Ethics in the legal profession. Mr. Bharat Vasani and Mr. Ashok Barat also addressed and interacted with the students. Mr. Bharat Vasani also expressed the desire to collaborate with NMIMS KPMSOL for various activities and programs of common interest. Mr. Harshal Shah, the mentor of the Law school also took time out of his busy schedule to attend this session. The meeting ended with Dr. Sunil George, the Area Chairperson for LLM proposing a vote of thanks.
